The LAST Eyes of March- March 31st

The day has come! It's the last day of The Eyes of March project! I've had such a fun time rediscovering old shadows and I will definitely continue to post more EOTDs. This project kept me from getting in a shadow rut as I was using a new one everyday. I encourage all of you to get your neglected shadows and use them more because you may never know, you could have been neglecting a shadow you love. (Shadows have feelings too!)

I had so much fun with the project I kind of don't want it to end =] I wanted to thank all of you for following along with this project! It was so great to hear the positive feedback from you guys. Would you be interested in me continuing it into April?

Today is a gross and grey rainy day so I went with a more smokey eye. I used Chanel's Taupe Grise and Milani's Java Bean. Taupe Grise is a gorgeous purpley smokey taupe and Java Bean is a purpley dark brown. Like I said before, Milani single shadows are AMAZING.

Products used:
-UDPP
-Chanel Taupe Grise (lid)
-Milani Java Bean (crease)
-NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk (inner corner base)
-Urban Decay Virgin (inner corner)
-Jordana Fabuliner (upper lashline)
-Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner (waterline)
-NYX Black eyeshadow (to set liner)

What have you thought of The Eyes of March project? Do you want em to continue it into April? What's on your eyes today?

The Eyes of March- March 30th

Today is a NYX type of day. I love NYX shadows for their price and quality. They offer such great pigmented shadows for a third of some higher end eyeshadows! Today I used two of my favorites that I own: Champagne and Root Beer. Champagne is a golden shade that is gorgeous on the lid and Root Beer is a soft, pigmented dark greyish brown. By the way, Champagne is a great dupe for the MAC Blonde's Gold pigment, they are very similar!

Products used:
-UDPP
-NYX Champange (lid and inner corner)
-NYX Root Beer (crease)
-NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk (inner corner base)
-Jordana Fabuliner (upper lashline)
-Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner (waterline)
-NYX Black eyeshadow (to set liner)

The Eyes of March- March 29th

I really don't know how I forgot about this eyeshadow: MAC's Naked Lunch! Naked Lunch, can you ever forgive me?? You are just so pretty and eye brightening and I neglect you =[ (cheesy!) Naked Lunch is a toned down version of Too Faced Silk Teddy (LOVE). It's a light champagne-y pink and you guessed it, very eye brightening. I also pulled out Milani's Golden Bronze Eyeshadow (can you guess what the color is like?). I love Milani single shadows and am very sad they've been discontinued. However, I have seen them on Cherry Culture.

My Favorite Nude Polish: Essie's Topless and Barefoot

I have always stayed away from nude polishes just because I didn't want dead looking hands. Personally, I think mannequins are so creepy and to have their hands...*shudder*. Also, from what I have seen in swatches, most nude or natural polishes tend to be on the sheer side. A combination of two of my hated things: mannequins and sheer polishes, no wonder i stayed away from them! recently Essie released their French Affair Collection and I was starting to hear buzz about a nude polish from this collection: Topless and Barefoot. There are two nudes in this collection, this one and a more beige one called Sand Tropez. I picked this one up out of curiosity (and one other that I will also do a blogpost on) and I'm so glad I did.

Topless and Barefoot looks like your standard beige-y nude but it has some pink undertones to it that are really flattering on my skintone. Also, this is definitely not a sheer polish. For this picture,  I used two coats.

Essie's Topless and Barefoot is definitely the standout polish from the French Affair Collection from me. If I had to recommend one polish from the collection, Topless and Barefoot is the way to go. It's a great nude with a great application!

Did you get any polishes from Essie's French Affair Collection? What did you think of them? Do you own Essie's Topless and Barefoot?

The Eyes of March- March 28th

I can't believe March is almost over, which means this project is almost over!! I do want to continue it so if you enjoy these posts let me know! One thing I definitely will make sure of is that in the next month, I won't slack on my other types of posts. I know that all EOTDs is probably boring so I will definitely mix it up! Also, if I do continue the project, do you have any clever names for April?

Today I reached for a MAC shadow that's not too widely praised but when people discover it, it's love: Patina! It's a gorgeous olivey golden shade. Also, I used Mystery, which is a dark brown that is more on the grey side as opposed to the reddish type of dark browns.

Products used:
-UDPP
-MAC Patina (lid)
-MAC Mystery (crease)
-MAC Vanilla Pigment (inner corner)
-NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk (inner corner base)

I have to be honest, this new shadow everyday thing is getting hard..but I shall stick it through! I went for some of my go to colors today: Urban Decay's Ruthless and MAC's Mulch. The Eyes of March- March 24th

I have been so overworked and tired lately that I went for a basic look today. I reached for one of my favorite drugstore shadows, Revlon's Nude Slip, and used a shadow I never have before, MAC's Go. I bought Go, a Starflash color, from a blogsale and when I realized it was exactly like Tempting, it just satin my MAC palette next to it's twin. Today I decided to finally show it love.

The Eyes of March- March 23rd

I love this challenge for making me discover combos I love. Last night, I watched MakeupbyTiffanyD's new video and she used MAC's Vintage Selection paintpot. I was inspired to use it today and love the effect of a taupe over it. The shadows I used are all from the Wet n Wild Silent Treatment trio (which I LOVE, my post about it ).

Picture of the WnW Silent Treatment trio for reference:

The Eyes of March- March 22nd

Today I pulled out some of my new Inglot shadows to do a purple-y smokey look. I love the quality of Inglot shadows but unfortunately, I can't tell you the names/numbers of them because it is so difficult to get the shadow out of the palette without potentially nicking it. Inglot has recently opened a new online store for those without access to an actual store since there are so few of them.

Here are swatches of the two shadows I used:

Products used:
-UDPP
-Inglot silvery purple color (lid)
-Inglot dark plummy purple color (crease)
-NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk (inner corner base)

The Eyes of March- March 21st

Today I pulled out one of the first makeup items that I bought once I started getting more into makeup: the Covergirl Shimmering Sands Trio. I'm sure a lot of you have heard other youtubers rave about this little drugstore gem. The colors are very wearable, eye brightening, and neutral! (Can you guess why I love it?)

Here is a picture of the trio for reference:

The Eyes of March- March 19th

The reason I started this project is to rediscover eyeshadows and use some I've never used before. Today was the day I used Too Faced Nude Beach eyeshadow from the Neautral Eye palette, a shadow I have stayed away from and never touched the entire time of owning this palette. I now know that I will never use this shadow again. This shadow is filled with glitter chunks that fall out ALL OVER. I despise the fact that companies put these glitter fillers in shadows, they are such a pain! The glitter never stays on your eye and it's the msot irritating thing ever. I also used the Pixie Epoxy again to make the glitter stick and it worked a little bit, but 50% of it was all over my face. Moral of the story: I am never using it again and I hate that it's one of the biggest shadows in the palette. End rant =]

Products used:

-Michael Todd Eyeshadow base
-Fyrrinae Pixie Epoxy (base)
-Too Faced Nude Beach-ugh! (lid)
-Too Faced Sexpresso (crease)

Upcoming Zoya Promo

Zoya has been mentioning an upcoming "big" promo for weeks now. They haven't said when it will happen or what the deal is, which just builds the anticipation more! I'm very excited to hear what the promo is because they usually have great deals (but slow sites during!).

Source
I wanted to let you guys know of this beforehand because the promo only pertains to people WITH ACCOUNTS. You must have an account by Sunday March 20th 5 PM EST to qualify to participate. If you have made an order with Zoya (even during their free polish deals), then you already have an account. If you haven't, I definitely recommend making one. It's free and if you do end up liking the promo (whatever it is), then you will be happy you did!

Are you excited for the Zoya Promo? What do you think it is?

The Eyes of March- March 18th

It's practically spring in NYC and I was very excited to pull out the lighter makeup.I'm a big lover of spring weather, not too hot or cold, so I'm so happy today to not even be wearing a jacket!  One of my favorites in the spring/summer is Rubenesque paint pot. It's a gorgeous peachy gold base. I also got some use out of my Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Palette, which has been sitting untouched for ages!

by the way, do any of you know how to help that eyeliner "bleeding" in the inner corner? I always get it even though I set the liner too! Any tips?

St. Patty's Day Manicure

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Are you wearing green? My nails are! =] I would have loved to do an intricate design with a clover or something but have absolutely ZERO nail art skills. So, I settled with just adding glitter.

I used these two nail polishes:

(left to right) Barry M Racing Green (2 coats), Sinful Colors Nail Junkie (one coat)

All I did is put Nail Junkie over Racing Green, ta-dah! I love it because it's simple and festive. Also the Nail Junkie isn't too crazy and overboard and gives the Racing Green more dimension.

What's on your nails for St. Pattys? Are you decked out in all green?

The Eyes of March- March 17th

First of all, Happy St. Patrick's Day! Right now I'm not too thrilled with this holiday as the parade has blocked off one of the busiest streets of NYC (hello! people have places to be!) but I can appreciate the spirit. My next blog post today will be my St. Patty's Manicure. It's pretty basic but festive!

For my EOTD I pulled out a duo I love thanks to Nouveau Cheap, the L'oreal HIP Electrified Duo. This duo has too well matched colors, a champagne taupe and a plumy purple. I also tried out the Michael Todd Eyeshadow Base that I got from Hautelook (WEEKS ago, can we say sucky shipping time!) I have no thought so far as I haven't seen how long it can keep my eyeshadow from creasing yet.

Here is a picture of the L'oreal Electrified duo for reference:

Products used:
-Michael Todd Eyeshadow Base

The Eyes of March- March 16th

Today I pulled out a trio that I loved for so long and have now neglected: The Physician's Formula Baked Sands trio. This is such a nice neutral combo of colors! I have a youtube tutorial using just this trio for a simple, golden neutral eye look. I really love this trio and highly recommend it for all you neutral lovers. The weather in NYC is pretty gloomy so I decided to go a little smokey on the eyes.

Here is a photo of the trio used, for reference:

The Eyes of March- March 15th

Interesting fact: today is The Ides of March (what this month long project is named after!)

I pulled out the Urban Decay Naked Palette today. I know all of you are so sick of hearing about it and some might pass because you may think it's overhyped. PLEASE at least swatch it! This palette is gorgeous and I think it's worth all the attention (just needs better stock!). Yes, it's all neutrals but a lot of these colors have more depth to them than your standard neutrals.

I know Urban Decay shadows are notorious for awful fallout, well I used a product today that might be a miracle worker: Fyrrinae's Pixie Epoxy. All I have to say is OMG! It was so amazing at trapping the fallout and glitter. I need to do a review when I have used it more.

Products used:
-UDPP
-Fyrrinae Pixie Epoxy (base)

-Urban Decay Hustle (crease)
-NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk (inner corner base)

Happy Pi Day!

 Source

I know this is such a nerdy holiday but we should all celebrate it because hey, who doesn't like pi(e) =]

My EOTD was a result of my excitement to get my Fyrrinae order. I had heard so much about about this company and how amazing their shadows are that I placed an order the day their site came back from hiatus. so far, I'm really pleased but haven't had time to try all the colors I ordered (or the infamous Pixie Epoxy!
