A week in eyeshadows! I have to say, I'm liking today's look. I didn't wear any liner on the upper lashline, which makes my lashes look HUGE. Also, I skipped the face makeup today and all I used is the Garnier tinted eye roller. Also, I am loving the Covergirl Pure Romance quad. I will admit the quality isn't that great and you do need to build up the colors, but it's a nice purpley neutral quad.

What is your favorite eye look? What's on your eyes today?

MAC Flighty Collection (Info and Wishlist)

EDIT: Temptalia recently posted the final info and some of the shades have different names, more colors, etc. I have edited the info and wishlist in this post =]

The other collection MAC is coming out with on the same day as the Fashion Flower collection is Flighty. I predict that this can either do really well....or really badly. It features a new line of cream shadows that are supposed to be a mousse texture. The colors sound great but the wear time and texture will definitely make or break the product.

Again, my wishlist is in bold and pink, however if the formula isn't great, I don't think I'll buy any of them.

MAC Fashion Flower Collection (Info and Wishlist)

I made some posts a while ago sharing the information of MAC Collections and what I wanted from them. I haven't done posts like that recently because honestly, the past months' collections sucked. I kept seeing swatches of poor pigmentation and just wondered if anyone at MAC was even looking at the products they were putting out. However, the next few collections have me excited for what's to come and hoping that they are good quality!

Also, maybe some of you have noticed that MAC collection info has been coming out closer to the release date as opposed to before when they would come out months in advance. From what I understand, MAC has placed a ban on leaked information so now the collection details come out much closer to the release date. I can see why MAC would do this but as a consumer, I'm very frustrated. I think they are playing on the "limited edition hype" and hoping that people buy more in a frenzy that things will sell out. I would much prefer to save up, especially when sometimes multiple collections come out in one day. Sorry for the rant and now onto the info! =]

I have bolded in pink what I am eyeing.

Michael Todd Eyeshadow Base vs Urban Decay Primer Potion Comparison

In one of my The Eyes of March posts I mentioned that I was testing the Michael Todd Eyeshadow Base on one eye and the Urban Decay Primer Potion on another eye. I don't wear two different primers on a daily basis, obviously, but that day I wanted to see how the Michael Todd holds up. I recently purchased this product off Hautelook because I have heard people raving about it. Urban Decay Primer Potion is my absolute favorite base so it is definitely something another primer has to live up to. UDPP lasts on my eyes all day and I can't rave about it enough! Keep in mind I have oily lids and if I have no primer, my eyeshadow would crease in a few hours.

Urban Decay Primer Potion (left), Michael Todd Eyeshadow Base (right)

10 AM- Just applied eyeshadow, both eyes look the same
1 PM- UDPP side is the same, MT side has slightly sunk into crease lines

4 PM- UDPP side is the same, MT side colors has started to muddle together

7 PM- UDPP side has slightly faded, MT side has creased up

As you can see, the Michael Todd Eyeshadow Base didn't hold up as well throughout the day as well as the Urban Decay Primer Potion did. Because I usually have 14 hour days, I need my eyeshadow to hold up as long as possible. Unfortunetly, the Michael Todd Eyeshadow Base didn't hold up and didn't work for me =[. Of course, this would work differently for others but this was my experience.

You can buy Michael Todd Cosmetics from All Cosmetics Wholesale or from Hautelook when they have it on sale. The prices on both are around the same.

Have you tried the Michael Todd Eyeshadow Base? How did it work for you?

Just as a warning, these will be pic heavy posts =] NYC has had gross weather for most of the week so I've been more into the "one shadow all over the lid and go" look most days. There were some days that I have felt like using more shadows and I have loved those combos!

So there's my week of eyeshadow looks. I'd have to say Tuesday's and Thursday's looks were my favorite. Too Faced Silk Teddy is one of my all time favorite shadows. It is great for a gorgeous, eye brightening one shadow look. I also loved the golden look of Thursday. I usually avoid shades like Half Baked and Woodwinked (very similar to Half Baked) because while they look golden and glowy, they come out copper on me. People have given me the tip that if this happens, to use a brown base. This did the trick and I got the gorgeous golden color that I wanted.

What was your favorite eyeshadow combo that you wore this week? What's on your eyes today?

Hey Urban Decay, stop hiding our product!

I'm sure you all have heard about how horrible the Urban Decay Primer Potion genie bottle is and how it seems to store product. I recently "debottled" my UDPP and I'm always surprised how much product is in there. When you start to feel like you're not getting too much product from the wand anymore, cut it open! There's about 50% left in there! I thought I'd do a picture tutorial of how to get the remained of the primer potion. I know there a TON of posts/videos on this but I also have a little tip to prevent the depotted product from drying out.

What you need to get the extra product out:
-UDPP bottle
 -kitchen knife
-towel
-container to put the product into
Cut the bottle at the "curves"

Look at all that product in there!

I just use the wand to scoop out all the product and to put it in the container. I'm sure you can see it's not the  prettiest thing in the world but it beats throwing out half your product because you think there's no more left.

My little tip is to use a glass jar to store your debottled primer potion. I know a common thing is to use a plastic jar but I have always had the product dry out in those within a matter of weeks (no matter how tightly I close it). For this, I used an empty MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer jar. I saved it because I knew it would have a use. This container closes tightly and keeps the air away from the product! I wish they sold empty ones!

I have recently seen that the Sephora website has the Urban Decay Primer Potion in TUBE packaging and the product doesn't have a "Limited Edition" next to it. I'm a little skeptical of this one because I had previously purchased the tubed professional size (which I think was LE) but I found it dried in the tube because the cap wouldn't close tight enough. I hope they changed that!

Have you "debottled" your Urban Decay Primer Potion? What do you use to store the remaining product?

The Fate of April Shadows

I wanted to thank you ALL for your feedback regarding the continuation of The Eyes of March project. I really appreciate all of your opinions (both positive and negative!).

Since there were people that wanted me to continue it, I will do it..but in a different way that's less intrusive =]. A few people suggested what I see as a happy balance between the positive and negative reactions. I know that last month the EOTD posts seemed to get in the way of my regular posts so I decided to do it in the form of a weekly roundup. I'll keep track of my looks and the products I used and will post it every Friday of April. I hope that this makes both sides happy!

My blog would be boring if all I posted was what I wanted to see and didn't take into account the readers. Thank you again for your input!
