Rose Gold Nail Polish Comparison (Sally Hansen, OPI, ORLY)

Rose gold nail polishes have been a big trend for the Fall and Winter! I have three polishes that are in the same color family but all differ in their own unique way.

The pictures may not pick it up but OPI Designer De Better has copper flecks in it. Sally Hansen Time To Shine has subtle silver shimmer. ORLY Rage is a smooth, metallic finish.

How do you feel about the rose gold nail polish trend? What is your favorite trend for the Fall and Winter?

OPI Pirates of the Caribbean Collection Review and Swatches

Recently I purchased a few of the polishes from the OPI OPI Pirates of the Caribbean Collection. For me, personally, this is more of a Fall collection. It has very subdued, muted, dusty colors. In the Spring and Summer I prefer brighter polishes. These would be perfect for Fall/Winter time! It's a very murky polish theme, I guess because pirates are murky? lol

Stranger Tides- This is a light, muted, yellow green. The formula is nice and applied evenly in 2 coats.

Mermaid's Tears- This is a dark green. It's more of a subdued sea foam green. Again, the formula is great and was opaque in 2 coats.

Silver Shatter (over Mermaid's Tears)- This is a silver crackle polish. To be honest, I'm a little crackled out! Crackle here, shatter there. There's so many companies coming out with crackles that there are plenty to choose from. This shatter isn't very opaque, which is my only con with it. I do like the effect of this, it adds some sparkly, especially to the more muted colors in this collection.

Have you picked anything up from the OPI Pirates of the Caribbean Collection? How do you like it? Will you wear these colors in the Spring/Summer?

Essie's French Affair (Swatch & Comparisons)

The other polish  that I got from the Essie French Affair Collection (my post on Topless and Barefoot) is the polish it's named after, French Affair. This is your standard pink that I'm sure you've seen with OPI, Essie, and other companies as well. I love this shade but don't think it's a must have! It's not the most unique shade on the market haha

Essie's French Affair
This polish applied pretty evenly, in two coats. For some reason the bottle and three nails showed up more purple but the pinky nail reflects how the color really is, sorry!

Did you get any polishes from the French Affair Collection? What did you think of them? What is on your nails now?

My Happy Nail Color: OPI Mod About You

New York City has been hit with a blizzard and I am enjoying being trapped at home!

I recently finished my semester and am recovering from finals, papers, and everything else related to an end of a college semester. I needed some kind of happiness, especially if I was going to be looking at my hands most of the time. In came one of my favorite nail polish colors: OPI's Mod About You.

Mod About You is a light pink with lilac undertones. It needs two coats. It's a gorgeous color, however the formula is thick and chips horribly (within 2 days horribly). However, I love the color that much that I deal with the formula. However, I have recently found a color very close to Mod About You that has a much better application!

Meet American Apparel's Coney Island. American Apparel polishes in general have a great formula, Coney Island is no exception. Coney Island is very similar to Mod About You but while Mod About You is a light pink, Coney Island is more of a barbie pink.

American Apparel's Coney Island is a gorgeous color with a great formula. It needed two coats and applies very smoothly.

If you love OPI Mod About You but hate the formula, I highly recommend American Apparel's Coney Island.

Will you be picking up Coney Island? What's your happy nail color?
